Being Humble Poem by Randy McClave

Being Humble

As though she had a mystic wand
Spoke to me said the blonde,
With pride and boasting do not stumble
But, be ever so humble.
Handkerchiefs are carried in the purse
Respectfulness is not ever a curse,
Pretentious do not ever seek
But, always be meek.
As she now relaxed upon the floor
As though knowing changes we made before,
Patting Rocco upon his head
These words I'll remember, as they were said.
Sometimes I am showy and very fearful
Other times I am boasting and also tearful,
But, if I had my opinions and my druthers
I would much rather be humble, with all others.
