Believers! Poem by Joshua Adeyemi

Believers!

Going and coming,
From the presence of the king.
Running and flying,
Yet they return'd with broken wings.
Slopping and skating,
Like the juveniles of the south.
With spirit and flesh debating,
Their habituals did again sprout.
What look'st thou for?
That is not surplus in the king's domain?
What ho! , of thy needs remain?
That the king will not willingly on you pour?
Remain thou in thy stead.
Thy gallivating did wroth you dead and live.
