Bells Palsy Face Poem by Christina Simmons

Bells Palsy Face

Look instead at my carer
after all her facial expression is
so much more fascinating than mines?
What she has to say is so much more important,
valid than what you expect from my mouth! ?
No time to stare at an idiot!

As far as you're concerned there is a
dumb and stupid female standing before you?
Should you gaze giving me your attention
you may learn something about yourself.
We don't want that,
Do we mate? I asked the question, not s/he

Give me your fixation stare,
concentrate in my direction when answering
my inquiries:
or is it that you can't bear to look me in the eye,
say what is really going through your heart -
And penetrating in your psyche?
Give it to me straight on:
Too afraid to say, what you are troubled by?
Tell me I can take it! Don't wait for me to psychically guess?
Not a medium nor have I got psychic abilities
Do I have to explain myself to you? Letting you know I can comprehend more than you could ever digest

Hear me, find out what I utter....
Does make sense plenty of logic behind it!
Don't allow my multiple Disabilities to keep you at a distance
Get to know who I am! Be amazed and astonished.
It's a surprised! ! !

Instead of purposely choosing to ignore me
Trying to bring me down to act how you feel inside
Disabled and cripple within your gut

Frequently insulting my intelligence
Because as a person with all limbs in tact
you still feel so lousy about your existence
Listen...Don't make me laugh! The Ernest is on you!
Don't try to bring me down!
You show your docility and hostility
by staying away; scared of being made Humane

Showing the characteristic that is so prevalent in me
Like I said, talk to me..... And not my carer.
My facial palsy is not contagious though it's real and so am I.
