Bellydancers Of Beltane Poem by Justin Gildow

Bellydancers Of Beltane

Rating: 5.0

It's the beginning of May
Spring is in the air
Spring is felt everywhere
We're all enthralled
During this time of the year as we celebrate Beltane

As the morning arrives
I hear the bagpipes in the distance

An hour or 2 passes
And I pass by all the booths and tents
And finally happen to come upon your tent

I look at you ladies
Dressed up as bellydancers
Bellydancers for this celebration of Beltane

Bellydancers of Beltane
You're all glammed up like jeweled marvels
Adorned with jewelry
Clad in costume
Touched up with makeup
And finally adding glitter to your faces

You're all a spectacle of beauty
And you radiate it with your sweet personalities

As you girls dance on stage
I stand not too far away
Watching and taking in all you ladies have to offer
And the little girls who watch you all perform
They're all wide-eyed
And try to mimic every one of your steps

Bellydancers of Beltane
You're all beautiful
You're all elegant
You're all wonderful

Day has turned to night
And a bonfire has been started
The embers from the bonfire glow bright
And you all join me by my side
After all the dancing you've done
I smile to all of you
And I offer my thanks to you all
We enjoy the warmth of the bonfire
And as it's finally night
The bagpipes sound off one last memorable time

Tonight it seems the moon and stars have come out in plain sight
Some say there's magic in the stars
If that's the case
Then the stars are looking over you ladies tonight
And the stars are looking over me tonight

Bellydancers of Beltane
The stars are on our side tonight
The magic is there
Regardless
