Beloved Poetry - Poem by Sandra Feldman

Poetry should be,
Like a sudden dart
To the heart
That lasts,
Infinitely.

How simply and directly you express this universal truth. Your meaning hinges on two word-pairs:
POETRY + HEART and SUDDEN + INFINITE. There's a whole Ars Poetica embodied in these swift thoughts.
I also wrote a comment on a companion poem to this one which PH DID NOT SEND to you! ! It's about accepting with gratitude the poems that come out your depths into the daylight. They may not equal Yeats's poems (Whose do? !) but they are genuine expressions of the Creative Force, the Imagination.
