Always close, dear to my heart, the very beat
Giving support, comfort, love when storms break
Keeping my head above threatening waves
Sharing joys and grief, strong hands in adversity
Strength of spirit, friendship that never falters.
Lighthouse firm throughout blows of purple storms
Keeping me safe from drowning amid prancing waves.
Safe harbour, guiding light when darkness falls
Cheer leader, navigating star for my Muse
And always encouraging each poem's birth.
With you, dear friend, I walk the high road
You are my purpose, love's sweetest reason
Leading me by example towards the dazzling light
Reason for all the good that I have achieved in life.
