Between The Lines Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Between The Lines

Between the lines

Years ago, I was in business
I kept eyes and ears open to learn,
so I learned reading between the lines.

Older now; settled here
I read between the lines, comments like:
"What people in our western world don't understand is…"

Exaggeration; "He" is a part of "we".

"NATO is being used as a tool of regime change;
causing chaos, destruction, misery and disaster…"

Then:
"This is an analogy; just imagine the US reacting to Russian-led military alliance."
"The whole Ukraine business is about who controls the Ukraine's market."

"Welcome to the new World Chaos Order."

And:
"USA is not a country to promote peace"
"North Korea satellite achieves stable orbit."

A poet, when claimed to be, has responsibilities. I am just paying my dues. Thank you.
