Beyond The Sights Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Beyond The Sights

Once more I've found you.
Buried deep into my flesh,
crypted within my ribcage,
I believe it to be your name shadowing upon my heart.
You speak foolishly of the things you know,
the things you don't,
and what the world seemingly expects of you.
I believe in the courage to follow uncertainy,
unknowingly into your most frightening thoughts.
Your judgment is clouded by the haze of fear and lonliness,
it's interrupted what was once your faith.
I can feel the anxiety of honesty coursing through you,
as your foot taps against the floor.
You must not quiver at the things unseen,
but rather embrace what has been laid behind you.
Entwined once and always,
I can feel your sadness miles away.
As I lay asleep dreaming the dreams I could only hope for,
I've come to caress the nightmares I once awoke from.
You've done more damage then most have feared,
and I have come to love the hate I bare for you.
It's become far too easy,
to love hating you.
But much more painful,
to hate loving you.
I was born to look past what most others could not,
and all I have learned is who lies within your blue eyes.
