Bird Of Many Colors - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Bird Of Many Colors - Lincoln Park Zoo

A golden breasted starling, I
Am clad in feathers colored bright.
Shiny black about bill and eye,
A belly yellow like sunlight,
A top of head of lustrous green,
Metallic blue of back and wing,
A throat of royal purple sheen.
So golden breast is just one thing
That got top billing in my name,
Which if included ev'ry hue
Would take a mouthful to proclaim.
Come see me at Lincoln Park Zoo.

More colors found in my nest bed.
I lay green eggs speckled in red.
