Birth

BONDSMANS PRAYER

Oh man why do you antagonize another as a low cast
As cast color and creed in this world will not last;
None is superior to another at birth,
As we all come naked to this earth.

Of flesh blood and bone we are made,
Till life is done we struggle to make the grade;
Oh man why don't you stop and ponder,
As your final rest would be six feet under.

Some are born black as the darkest night,
They too bleed and their blood is red and bright;
So why do humans spite each other with their might,
For all are born free and to live they all have a right.

Some are affluent and walk ten feet tall,
They think not that they would ever fall;
How stupid could such humans be,
Beyond their noses they are unable to see.

Their hearts are filled with vanity and false pride,
None could tell them and none could guide;
They believe in life to be smart and always wise,
Not knowing they live in a fool's paradise.

I may be born black or I may be born white,
How could my birth be wrong or be right;
Common to man is his day and his night,
To realize this dear God brighten his sight.
