FATHER
Oh my father so frail yet so brave,
How you toiled till you entered the grave;
Your love with grace to us you gave,
Thoughts of you till I die I will save.
You were our hero our living God on earth,
Our rights and wrongs you taught us from birth;
You nourished us with your good cheer'
Now that you are gone we do miss you dear.
You had no wealth but lived like a king,
You never bothered on such trifle things;
Every hard earned cent you did save,
All this with pleasure to us you gave.
Streets you may have swept and cleaned trash bins,
With a sense of pride you did them with no sins;
Every bead of sweat you shed a noble story it told,
Never shirked in your duty you were a ton in gold.
Had you been a farmer a doctor or a mason,
A teacher a clerk or just an artisan,
You did your best come what may;
Your daily bread you earned the honest way.
I do remember your tired and wrinkled face,
When the day was done you would rest with grace;
Gathering the lot of us in your strong arms,
We do recall even now of your masculine charms.
If ever I happen to be a child's blessed dad,
To my child I would tell of the loving father I had;
Living in your honorable footsteps would be my goal,
Where ever you are in peace my you rest your soul.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
good writing, I like it, living in honorable footsteps.
Honor your father and the world will honor you. Thanks
