Birth Anxieties Naked Real Raw Poem by Terence George Craddock

Birth Anxieties Naked Real Raw

prebirth imminent is hung between first heart beat and infinity
prebirth womb left is running from shadow tube into sterile hospital
hot light stabbing closed eyes too sharp better born under star light
headed trap-door breathless we are squeezed toothpaste elastic

flung shoulders slip sudden fast through gate open pulse warm tunnel
does strange savage happiness surge fierce knife-edged roll of dice
cord cut release whisper no going back to seal under guardian heart
direct sound move in mind air unimpeded passing no flesh liquid walls

imprisoned in body does fear bait with barbed hooks?
silence clouds veil shook light brilliant blinding burns
tender eye lids pumping heart chugging lungs rustle blood

erased barrier ears never before heard background beat so loud?
membrane seals surpassed life certainties consistancy born past
bypassed adrenalin in bloodstream invasion life cloak clock start
