Birth Of A New Day Poem by David Harris

Birth Of A New Day

Rating: 5.0

The beauty of the morning
is at the crack of dawn,
when the fingers of the sun
spread out across the sky,
to welcome the birth of a new day.
As an early riser, I am always in awe,
at the stillness and the beauty,
of each new dawning day.
At the quiet moments,
before the world awakes
to take the quiet away.
The flowers unfold their petals,
damp with the morning dew,
to face the warmth of the rising sun.
Little birds stretch a leg
in their nest high up off the ground,
before they winging off
to find their breakfast
under the new morning sun.
While sleepy heads lie in their bed,
miss this wonderful display,
of the birth of a new day.

I felt the peace and serenity of this fabulous poem, the imagry so vivid I'm still seeing the bird stretching those legs. A poem of beauty resonating a sense of calm. Loved it my friend, simply loved it.--Melvina--

This is just so descriptive and beautiful about this peaceful time of day...I especially enjoy your images here being a late sleeper...need my almost ten to twelve hours...... I can relate only when I travel to islands for I never wish to miss a sunrise or the glorious sunsets there.~~~~love, marci
