Birthday Cake Poem by Randy McClave

Birthday Cake

I wished her a happy Birthday
I even bought her a gift,
Happy compliments I did say
Her spirits I needed, and wanted to lift.

I also bought her a birthday card
Then I sang her a happy tune,
Today I even became her birthday Bard
I even gave her a festive balloon.

I then told all of her friends
What special day, today for her was,
To her many began making their amends
That is what friends, and family does.

None of her birthday wishes were belated
All of her dreams I hope would come true,
To her favorite charity I even donated
Today, I wanted her happy and not blue.

I wasn't invited to her party
Oddly enough I wasn't even given a break,
Maybe because she said, I was being a smarty
But worse yet, I didn't get a slice of birthday cake.

Not even a slice? What a pity! Great poem though
