Bittersweet Poem by Kayla Burress

Bittersweet

I may not be pretty like some other girls.
I may not be as smart.
I may not be all there in my head,
But I'm all there in heart.

I still bleed when you're disappointed.
I still ache when you are hurt.
I still wish you are here with me,
Even when you treat me like dirt.

I don't have much to offer,
But whatever I have, please take.
I've thought it a million times over.
I know what it is that's at stake.

I want to have a chance.
I think that much I've made clear.
Just say 'go, ' I won't disappoint.
You alone I'll hold precious and dear.

I love you,
And I will say it out loud for all to hear.
I love you,
And whenever you're not with me, I want you near.

I love you
Even though you don't feel the same.
I love you
Despite all of this pain.

I love you...
I can't stop the bleeding.
I love you...
I'm falling short of breathing.

I love you,
Look! Don't you see?
I love you,
And that is what killed me.
