You filled my head with promises
You didn't mean to keep.
They all tell me I'm better off,
Yet still I sit and weep.
I would have done anything,
That much, you know, is true.
And unlike you, I didn't lie
When I said I cared about you.
Sometimes I sit and wonder
What it is that I did wrong.
When will I finally realize
You were the problem all along?
I made you my everything,
As anyone could see.
Not long ago I devoted my life to you.
And now, you're nothing to me.
You pretended, you lied.
I foolishly believed, and I cried.
But now that chapter of my life is done.
Said you wouldn't leave, but that was fake.
I gambled, put everything at stake.
You think you have control? No. I've won.
