Black As Night Poem by keith brown

Black As Night

Black as night

Shake a fist at the sun
Light a fire on summer daze
Wipe the dew from mornings brow
Anoint her fledgling days
Shine a spotlight on the moon
A twinkle to the stars
Wipe the clouds from the sky
Leave not a single scar

Sail on nature's wayward wind
Throw dust upon the rain
Defy the oceans roar
the sirens sweet refrain
Then dark as night my soul will fade
Then I will be no more
