Black Carpet Poem by Airda Jones

Black Carpet

He is coming over here
Does that make you sore?
That's so confusing
When it never did before

All of a sudden this falls
And I've no clue where from
And I have yet to figure out
What it is I've done

When she's gone, all is well
Especially when she returns home
Suddenly I leave and
I get the other tone

Where is my welcome mat?
Still rolled out for her?
Is this what I have to expect
When I leave forever?

Or are you just prejudice?
Now that your baby has found her man
Will it be the same when she finds hers?
Or will you, for her, understand?
