Blazing Sunlight Poem by Seema Jayaraman

Blazing Sunlight

Rating: 4.5

I opened my eyes
To blazing sunlight
Streaming unchallenged
Flooding gold dust
Into an amethyst room
A million rainbows
staring at me
Suspended patiently waiting
Beckoning into a promise
Day of joy and laughter
If only I was willing
To throw away the dark shroud
Of gloom and despair
Covering my minds dishabille
If only I had the strength
To reach out and use these diamonds
To light up my minds unlit corners
