Blessed Assurance Poem by Paul Sebastian

Blessed Assurance

I will look forward to what lies ahead,
Not wander in my past and regrets.
He has prepared the best for me
He invites me to let go and be free
To trust and seek Him each day:
Answers readily when I pray
His promises alone assure me
My helper and friend, He’d be
He walks before me: I fear not
Protects me with His staff and rod
With my Shepherd, I lack nothing
He pursues me, if I am wandering
He makes my joys complete
For He provides all my needs
Makes home in me: therein resides
As I obey Him, keeping His statues.
His goodness and kindness;
His mercy and faithfulness
Follow me, all the days of my life.

Beautiful poetry inspired, I think, by the psalm The Lord's My Shepherd. Your words bring the message of the psalm in a new way. Thank you.
