Blessed To Know Her Poem by Bryan Taplits

Blessed To Know Her

Blessed am I to know her
For now the stars they shine more bright
The clouds they all swing on the sun's golden wings
As the sun rays pepper in fairy dust
her light.

The grass on which I trod is no longer below
As I veer on a more heavenly path,
And it's no longer thin green, but more emerald- and sings,
As it leads to my princess tonight.

Then, shall I soar and sway in flamed glee
As I breathe in your abundant-honeyed charms,
Oh yes, I am blessed to be near you, dear one,
To be ever entwined and imprisoned
In your arms.

Men have mined and looked all of their lives
For the treasure to which now I aspire,
But they received only spurious delights-
not the dreams of my nights-
Nor those bounties that heat like a pyre.

To race is a veritable delight;
To croon a blues song- is also not slight,
But the best feat of joy is not a Christmas toy
But to know that you are near me
tonight!
