Blessings Poem by Holly Jamestone

Blessings

Thank you for the gifts this year
Both giving and receiving
Of knowing love, of finding peace
And constantly believing
That life is kind and fair and just
And good times will prevail
That clouds are lined with silver
More than raindrops, snow or hail

Thank you for reminders
That this world in all its wonder
Will pave the way to happiness
While darkness fades asunder
That children are the helpers
As are animals and beauty
In teaching us that simple things
Will ease our sense of duty

Thank you for the merriment
The ivory quilts of frost
The sequined jewels that dot the streets
The magic never lost
The snowmen and groundskeepers
Of the reindeer on the lawn
Who prance beneath the moonlight
Till the magic hours of dawn

Thank you for believing as one should
In perseverance
That striving and achieving
Are the keys to finding clearance
Of paving roads, unlocking fears
For this year and hereafter
Uniting us in newfound hope
And blessing us with laughter
