Blood Falls Poem by Ima Ryma

Blood Falls

Rating: 5.0

Blood Falls - the name 'twas given to
A flowing pour from glacier tongue
In Antarctica of red hue.
From whence and why such eerie sprung?
The answer found - saltwater brine
With a high iron content therein,
With lower freezing point design,
Keeping a flowing discipline.
The brine seeps through some cracks of ice
Within the glacier's frozen crust,
In such amounts that do suffice
To flow therefrom as melted rust.

A glacier that does seem to bleed,
A very scary tale indeed!
