Blue Jay Feathers Poem by Mark Heathcote

Blue Jay Feathers

Please spare a thought for them, Blue Jay
Feathers you collect daily on your walks
And thought nothing of it - no ripostes
Or sharp-tongued anecdotes:

Weren't they the shards of angel wings
That got buried in ice due to atmospheric
Changes in our human hearts.

Blasphemy
Against
The
Holy
Spirit

Heartfelt and perplexing- 'They got buried in ice due to atmospheric.... changes in our own, human hearts'. It shows how we lost our sensitivity and humaneness over a period of time. Thanks.
