Encompasses A Whole Poem by Mark Heathcote

Encompasses A Whole

Rating: 4.5

Do our dreams leave impressions?
Like fossils leave-footprints
why count our possessions?
With others be—wolfish.

This life child is only
a recital, only
a prelude rehearsal
to another, full circle.

This is-part-of-a test,
that encompasses a whole
never made manifest
unto which we give our soul.

~ or ~

Every permutation is connected-
from molecules to quarks and atoms
Isn't a mountain joined to a valley?
Roots and flowers are embedded in my soul.
Every star every-drop-of-water
has quenched mine and another's
tens of million others like mine before
it's that jewel seated in one crown
that singularity no one can define.
That transcends all technologies-
surpasses all organic biology
that might be as simple as water.
That permeates and infuses everything.
Every permutation is connected-
dark and light.
Every permutation is connected-
day and night.
Every permutation is connected-
birds of a feather.
Every permutation is connected-
every living thing is your soul brother.
Encompasses a whole
do our dreams leave impressions?
Like fossils leave-footprints
why count our possessions?
With others be—wolfish.
This life child is only
a recital, only
a prelude rehearsal
to another, full circle.
This is-part-of-a test,
that encompasses a whole
never made manifest
unto which we give our soul.

The picture you added is a loveliest drawing, and a serene one with rainbow at the background. Excellent! This is the picture of a wonderful dream. I had no space left when I put that 10 Score, now you know about that. Even as a member, I have no much space to respond poems. A frustrating business when my response suddenly stops. You created brilliant poems, Mark. In all times thought provoking poems. You are a true endowed poet.

Indeed, this is part of one whole, no matter how you turn or twist, this is part of a larger whole, whatever it may be. A very thoughtful piece of poem. We do not live alone on this earth, we still form one whole with others. Beautiful logical thoughts in this direct hit. I greatly enjoyed this balanced poem. Thanks for sharing.your philosophy, Mark.Congratulations on being chosen by Poem Hunter as The Member poem of the day. Hurray! 10
