Blurred Vision Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Blurred Vision

Rating: 5.0

My vision is blurred
Do I miss something or err?
I think objects are away and far
Look different even when near

It is not that eye sight is affected
There is no likelihood that it is infected
But has developed inherent lacuna
Sees barren land even if there is flora and fauna

All human beings may be suffering same
I want to criticize none or pass the blame
I fail to admit it as shame
But all charges I need not frame

I won’t be able to rectify
Even with best possible remedy
I will escape under false pretext
As I consider it considerable and best

Let us assume it not to admit
Even if it is right and fit
We may or can avoid it anytime
But need to offer excuses sometimes

We are excused as mere human being
As we may exclaim compulsion to bring
Any change of our own in large interest
And that too considered being an acid test

It will be nice to agree for certain views
Make some exception for limited few
Yet you can’t act indifferent form others
As it may prove suicidal to you further
