Bored To Tears Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Bored To Tears

Sentenced to whims granted,
Is the ungrateful approach to life...
Those cursed with wealth,
Who find themselves living their lives...
Bored to tears as socialites.

With wishes and dreams,
Limited to pomp and circumstance.
And restricted to proper etiquette...
That is artificially rimmed with affectation,
With a twist of limped wrist crime dined on.

And these are the carrots that are dangled,
To tease as a piece of the pie...
One drools unconsciously to obtain,
As if this is the objective of a 'good' life lived.
To awaken realizing one is bored to tears.
