During my bicycle ride
Through the countryside so wide
I saw along tha hamlet lane
Women walking through the plain.
In quiet dress, side by side
With shining brass pots by their side
They walked towards the nearby pond
To gather water, clear and fond.
They moved with laughter free of care
With joyful voices in the air
Their simple happy un restrained
Lives touched my heart and gently strained
My eyes to see their world so bright
Where joy arose in golden light.
My mind paused there among them all
And heard the cheerful voices call.
I thought of sorrow, want and strife,
And social evils woven through life.
Then slowly down the dusty way
I watched their simple joy and play.
