Speak out against the wrongs!
Speak out and break the silence!
Silence is for those
Whom the hand of death has touched,
Closing off their earthly span,
Robbing them of human thought,
Taking away their winning gift of speech,
Stripping them of hopes and dreams.
Ask them no questions
They cannot respond!
Chide them not,
They cannot defend!
Dumbfounded, expressionless, lost,
They float about
With voices that cannot sing!
Voices that cannot even speak!
For them silence has become the norm!
But we who are alive
We have the voice
We must break the silence
And speak out against the wrongs!
Another very interesting poem! Thanks again for sharing! I just thought I couldn't let this poem go without acknowledging, showing appreciation, and most of all, 'breaking my silence!
Very important wisdom contained in this poem. Break the silence, speak up against the wrongs. At the same time we have to speak up for the good. I really feel myself, Phil, that the focus today is so much on what is wrong with our world, that too many people forget about all the good. So, yes, we have to speak up speak up against the wrongs speak up for all the good that is steadily increasing. A very nice, deep and thought provoking poem. Ver well done, Phil.
