Breathless Poem by Gert Strydom

Breathless

(for Annelize)

Outside I see the sun peep,
hear doves coo for each other,
know that where you are it does also rise
with the beauty of it I am astonished,

in my heart you are beating in my blood,
another day races on
while you do wonder in the silences of my heart,
without gasping it

as you are breathless-far away in the nought.
