Broader Vision Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Broader Vision

I make my steps to take,
With broader vision.
And make decisions with a broader vision.
To know this to do,
Will not change the air...
We both live to breathe.

I'm not asking your approval to be me.
I'm not asking your approval to feel free.
When was the first and last time,
I've asked of you to be more...
Than you've ever been before.
With disrespect to express it.
Then to leave you ignored.

I'm not living to discriminate.
Or placate anyone who can not appreciate,
What it takes to learn and grow.
With broader vision.

That won't change the air we both breathe.
Or has nothing to do,
With the color of grass.
Or green leaves on most trees.
Whatever your needs and wants,
May not be mine to please.
But we both can have broader vision.

I make my steps to take with broader vision.
Do you?
And decisions too I do this with broader vision.
Hoping to unwind,
From confusion many find.

I'm not asking your approval to be me.
Nor have I requested your approval,
To feel free.
I'm not living to discriminate.
Or placate anyone who can't appreciate,
What it takes to learn and grow...
With broader vision!
