'Broken Hearted People' Poem by Linda Winchell

There are broken hearted people
I meet them most every day.
I wish that I could be them
To maybe take their hurt and pain away.

Even with all of my best intentions
I could never take away their need.
Yet I found a friend that certain someone
Who is everything, I could never be.

This friend's name is, 'Jesus'
He is always there for me.
And He always knows just what I need
And just where I need to be.

There are people all around me
Who see the way in which I live.
And while I feel them reaching out to me
To give me the love, I just couldn't seem to give.
