Building Walls And Fences Poem by Heather Z. Hanna

Building Walls And Fences

Post holes and bricks.
Protection from hurt and pain.
We build our walls to block out
what we don't want to see.
We build our fences to keep out
what we don't want to feel.
You'll not know how deeply
you've hurt me because
My wall is high and thick,
surrounded by my fences.
