Bumble Bee For Tea Poem by Larry Schreckengost

Bumble Bee For Tea

Breakfast in our backyard
Rows of tulips standing guard
Newspaper and a cup of tea
Shared it with a bumble bee

The jealous month of May
Wished that she could stay
Such a pleasant spot
But June is just too hot

Flower pots line the walk
Begonias giggle when they talk
Orange trees by the sea
On the lovely Isle of Capri

Sampling flowers one by one
Naughty snapdragons bit her tongue
And clumps of weeds were making fun
Of a tiny Bumble Bee in the sun

Without the thought to wipe her feet
She helped herself to a bite to eat
I believe what she enjoyed most
Was my honey drizzled toast
