Bumblebee Poem by George Hunter

Bumblebee

Rating: 5.0

Fiddle dee dee, fiddle dee dee,
I think that I shall never see
A bat as pretty as a bee.
A fat bee of the Bombus kind
Whose physiognomy blows your mind.
Who wears stripes of black and yellow
Which shows that he's a mellow fellow.
He flits among the scented flowers
Wiling away delightful hours
Sipping nectar day by day
Giving up his time to play.
Making love to all the plants
By pollen sticking to his pants.
I must say without compunction
That he performs a useful function.
So here's to you fat bumble boy
You help to make my day a joy.
