But Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

But

The but to use these days.
Is as insignificant as the if.
Or the well.
There are no excuses,
For anyone not to be certain.
With it done to replace uncertainty.
To make doubt once acceptable.
Long gone with the past.
There is too much occurring today,
That requires thought.
And proof one can do it.
Without a but or if to depend upon.
