Canada Is Our Land Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Canada Is Our Land

Canada Is Our Land

This land is your land, this land is my land
From Vancouver Island to Newfoundland
From Niagara Falls to Bay of Fundy
Canada was made for you and me

As I was walking a ribbon of highway
I saw above me Aurora Borealis
I saw below me The Cabot Trail
Canada was made for you and me

I've traversed the highway and the byway...my way
From desert to rainforest to high arctic
And all around me people were singing
Canada was made for you and me

Jesus comes shining as I was strolling
The wheat fields waving Badlands forming
Peaceful demonstrating we were seeing
Canada was made for you and me

As I was walking I saw Trump The Grump
Holding a sign that said: 51st State
But on the other side: Canada Is Not For Sale
Canada was made for you and me

In downtown corridors - steeped in religious tradition
Near welfare offices - I see lost and lonely folks
And some are moaning and some are belying
If this land's still made for you and me
