May you open your hearts
To the less fortunate
Feel within their heart
And hug them with your love
May you see tears
Of such dreadful pain
Dry them with tears
Of such immense joy
May you now hear
Screams of agony
To the melody
Little Drummer Boy
May you taste poverty
Sleeping out in the cold
Embrace all that is good
And thank God for your health
i think i slept out in the cold twice in my lifetime. once in Boy Scouts. and again when my third wife kicked me out one night during a snowstorm. and i'd rather have Presents than Presence. TRUTHFULLY: i have some problems with the poem. i THINK the poet's heart is in the right place, but i think/know the poem needs some work. Stanza four sounds like a horror movie! REALLY! ! bri : (
Bri, homelessness and poverty in rich countries like Canada and the US is a horror movie! REALLY! !
Yes, Christmas is a time to express what is best within our humanity
Too bad it's not like that all year long! Happy Holidays & All The Best In The New Year, Michael!
I don't know, Richard. These poems of yours are... not very good. Sorry.
Yes, dear Richard. At the time of every celebration we should think of the less privileged and pray for them sincerely and wipe their tears with tears of joy. What a superb humanitarian thought. May God bless you
