To be a childhood star
Knowing you've surpassed the bar
To see the moon beyond the sky
Totally sober and not high
To hear the music beyond song
Truly trusting you haven't gone wrong
To smell fear and be rough
Always fighting to be tough
To touch all that is pure love
And have sense of the above
To taste glorious victory
And still remain loyal and free
To be the one and only Drake
Knowing you've never been a fake
To rise beyond the star so bright
Keeping bang-up values in sight
Excellent brevity, enjoyed reading this time and again, now again, I keep All the STARS in the Galaxy for you, dear Richard. My two thumbs up for YOU
My today's response on your comment: Deepest bowing for you, thank YOU, dear Richard
It's a great honour to have a poetess of your stature reread my poetry. To keep all those stars for me...so very heartwarming and brightening. My dear friend Sylvia, I can't thank you enough for all of your support and encouragement!
THX very much for the positive appraisal, Anjandev. Happy that you enjoyed it. Are you a Drake fan?
Dillip, I can't thank you enough for your support of this poem. You are motivating me to find the courage to send it to Drake!

A magnificent Ode! My favourite lines, 'To be the one and only/Drake Knowing you've never been a fake/To rise beyond the star so bright/Keeping bang-up values in sight'
Dr Swain, it's always an honour when you revisit my poems and positively comment on them. You really liking this one so much may give me the impetus to send it to Drake.
