To be a childhood star
Knowing you've surpassed the bar
To see the moon beyond the sky
Totally sober and not high
To hear the music beyond song
Truly trusting you haven't gone wrong
To smell fear and be rough
Always fighting to be tough
To touch all that is pure love
And have sense of the above
To taste glorious victory
And still remain loyal and free
To be the one and only Drake
Knowing you've never been a fake
To rise beyond the star so bright
Keeping bang-up values in sight
A fabulous ode! My favorite stanza, 'To touch all that is pure love And have sense of the above To taste glorious victory And still remain loyal and free' Top core and to my favorite.
Dillip, you seem to be quite enamoured with my first POD. Sincerest thx for your continued support and encouragement!
OR...maybe: 'During his time, Sir Francis Drake was known in England as an expert sailor, adventurer, privateer, navigator, and war hero. The Spanish, however, viewed him as an illegal trader of enslaved people and a ruthless pirate.' bri : )
'Paul Drake is a fictional private detective in the Perry Mason series of murder mystery novels by Erle Stanley Gardner' Ok, I'd better read the poem now. ;)
