Candle Light Poem by Paul Sebastian

Candle Light

Lost, I lived in darkness, forlorn
As God-sent light, cast out the spell
Enlightened I became newly born
Led me into your bosom to dwell

I shone like the mid-day sun
Love enflamed, I soared like an eagle
Unafraid of storms that would come
Courage saw nothing unattainable

My love grew deeper than any sea
To love unconditionally, faithfully
To the moon and for all eternity
Live giving each other, completely

Like wind you caress me, lift me high
Beneath my wings, I soar to the sky
Have a reason to live, a reason to die
Eyes set on golden years, we will fly

Being there to love, is sufficient
Your gaze soul-penetrates to inspire
Your smile makes my spirit embolden
Your touch makes my heart perspire

Be always my glowing candle light
Shine forth to all corners of my night
May God light our golden years bright
Darling, let's live lives worthwhile
