The candy cane at Christmas time.
How did the concept come about?
Was there any reason or rhyme
Achieving such seasonal clout?
Red for blood, white for purity.
To give sweet Jesus on his day
A decoration for the tree,
And spelled with a capital 'J'?
Christian connections have been stretched
In lore that is not verified.
Though many tales do seem far fetched,
One fact exists as bona fide.

A priest invented machine main
To mass produce the candy cane.
