Carry This Memory Everywhere You Go Poem by Sarah Mkhonza

Carry This Memory Everywhere You Go

Rating: 5.0

Me disappearing in the distance,
my silhouette full of love for you
have given me the best shot of the
drink we drink out of each other's
water bottles. This ends the yearning
for you know I will emerge again
with a body full of something that
oozes of the juices of the yesterdays
when we held each other close and
smelt only the smells of ourselves,
my breath, your breath.

Sarah, I am reminded of...'It is better to have loved and lost than...' .I read this poem as a monument to love. I reread, and notice that it may also be about loss. This is a great poem, Sarah.
