Catching Up With Me

Rating: 5.0

More poignantly than Kerry-Edwards stickers
the past is catching up with me, and flickers;
I see it in the mirror as I strive
to steer, not swerving as I’m forced to drive
straight into headlights of the future, blinding
my vision on the path I’ve taken, winding
across a territory that’s not been mapped,
where others who go boldly have been zapped.
Kerry-Edwards never will catch up
with devils they invited once to sup,
but very soon I fear the past with me
will catch up, surely turning out to be
the only future left to me, reminded
of all its distant details when unblinded.

Happy New Year Gershon, it is very true, that as we progress through life, our mistakes, catch us by surprise, more and more. I think that's a lot of what it's all about, no matter how well, we think we have disguised our doubts and fears about these things, they just rise in the mind, as and when is right for us to deal with them, whatever they may be. A very interesting, thought provoking poem Gershon, thanks for sharing it. 10 from Tai
