Cat's Eye Poem by H E Alexander

Cat's Eye

Rating: 5.0

Bamber is a frisky cat
He's only got one eye,
He lost the other in a roof-top brawl
With an ugly, flea-bitten guy.

Where the other eye should be
He has a furry hole
Where if you look deep inside
You'll see his feline soul.

Bamber, when he goes for a swim,
Must keep his non-eye tight closed,
Else he fills up right to the brim
And down to the riverbed goes.

So when he stands looking up at you,
Just be careful what you think,
He's not really coming on to you,
He really can't help his wink.

And when the lights have all gone out
There's a lesson to be learned
Be careful where you stroke in the dark
Coz you don't know which way he's turned!
