Caught Them Gawking Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Caught Them Gawking

Rating: 5.0

Every breath I breathe,
Is excitement filled!
Someone suggested...
I was 'over the hill'!
Of course they didn't know 'me',
They referred to my age!
And I quickly reminded them...
It was them who had whispered,
Saying I had upstaged!
A position 'normally' not given,
To one of 'my Age'.
And I caught them 'gawking'
Amazed and dazed!
Showing them a thing or 'two'...
About limitation and boundaries,
Assigned to old folks
And their 'age'!

'Come on children...
Can't you keep up with poppa?
You are wearing me out,
Waiting for you! '
