Center Stage Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Center Stage

Center stage.
Bright under spotlight.
Are those issues,
Long reluctantly to face.
And historically evaded.
Well...
No one can say,
They've become outraged.
Since presented,
Is a truth too real portrayed.

Some are appalled.
Many are disgusted,
But...
These are the issues.
Center stage to view.

Some with pretentions.
Appear to be offended.
Their hallucinations,
To defend are being erased.

Fading fast.
Is their kept truth deluded,
To have.
Of the past.
To fade fast.

Fading fast.
Is their kept truth deluded,
To have.
Of the past.
To fade fast.
Facts to witness and up in the face,
Dramatically removes the masks.

Center stage.
Are their issues under spotlight.
To backfire,
On the one who wrote the script.
And decided to select,
Which deceptions to direct.
Producing an effective...
Mess.

Center staged,
Is deception manifested.
To invest.
In an epic epidemic.
Center stage.
Bright and under spotlight.
The one performing and directs...
The mess.
