Chameleon Poem by Yinka Meander

Chameleon

Rating: 4.0

Here goes red -and she is red
Show her a color, and it becomes hers
Cry, and she will cry.
Smile, she will smile.

Hey! Chameleon!
Do you not know
It takes greater effort
To deceive an Artist?

Your mimicry is mere cajolery to poets,
Only tools within the artist hands.
Wait, you fool,
Until the Artist paint you black!

Yet, didn't you hear it's elevated heart beat rate? Let her calm down first and then, you may approach her. Enjoyed the poem. Thanks for sharing.
