Chapters Of My Life Poem by Linda Barnes

Chapters Of My Life

Rating: 5.0

My first memory
Begins as a small child
Feelings of insecurity
Begins to cloud

Growing to be an adult
My second chapter begins
Of becoming a wife
Followed by having a child

The end of this chapter
Left me empty and afraid
Not alone, but with children
Chapter three begins

As I began to recover
Finding out who I am
It was put on hold when
I married another man

Scared but hopeful
I welcomed the unknown
By falling in love
A new chapter number four

Fulfilling my heart
My soul felt complete
Those years flew by as
This chapter would not survive

Now I find myself
At a crossroad alone
Not sure of anything
While another page turns

These chapters of my life
Filled of love, joy and sorrow
Just leads me to believe
A new chapter begins tomorrow

A great poem, something close to Shakespeare's All the world's a stage. I rate it 10/10...
