Charles Grant - Not Only A Genius Photographer But A Most Commendable Human Being As Well! Poem by Professor Dr. Stanley Collymore

Charles Grant - Not Only A Genius Photographer But A Most Commendable Human Being As Well!

By Stanley Collymore

It's always quite obviously rather
painful even when instinctively
one is really, being genuinely
adulatory towards someone, who was
unquestionably a genius in relation to
the work they did and so significantly
undeniably, quite passionately loved;
as well as were themselves, actually
happily and rather crucially involved
in literally doing! And Charles Grant:
a most brilliant, and also irrefutably
evidently impressive, photographer,
throughout his actual working, and
social life, was simply undoubtedly
such a person! However, and most
unfortunately, naturally discernibly,
obviously no longer with us, in this
our earthly life, Charles, who I very
personally knew and was crucially
essentially both an individual, and
a professional mentor to many as
the truly phenomenal person, that
he normally was, having departed
this simply fulfilling, and evidently
productive life, he so undoubtedly
distinctively and rather effectively
lived on Saturday 18 May 2024, in
our beloved Barbados, will simply
I'm rather absolutely sure, be very
missed, and quite enormously so
by quite large numbers of people
personally as well as collectively;
and amongst whose ranks, most
unmistakably, will simply, be me!

Author's Remarks:
As we say in Barbados: 'Farewell my dear friend until we meet again after this life! '

Charles Grant's life's work is chronicled in the Barbados Nation Newspaper that he worked several years for and also in other media there, including Barbados Today! It was in my capacity as a journalist with the Nation Newspaper that I first met Charles Grant and worked closely with him. Clearly his loss has impacted on me considerably.
