A wildflower in the wilderness bloomed and died,
This little life unexpectedly
At the Sun was smiling.
God gave him wisdom, he knew why -
His joy, his poetry,
In the wind gently swaying.

A wildflower in the wilderness bloomed and died,
He saw the blue skies,
But not his own tiny-ness.
He was used to the wind's tenderness,
And the wind's angry prowess.
His dreams turned into forgetfulness.

一朵野花在荒原裡開了又落了，
不想這小生命，向著太陽發笑，
上帝給他的聰明他自己知道，
他的歡喜，他的詩，在風前輕摇。

一朵野花在荒原裏開了又落了，
他看見青天，看不見自己的藐小，
聽慣風的溫柔，聽慣風的怒號，
就連他自己的夢也容易忘掉。
